During
the day, catch some rays while lounging on the sundeck before
cooling off in the 30' by 60' swimming pool before heading off
to Fire Island's beautiful sandy beach, full of gay men. Later,
return to the Grove Hotel to chill at the bar with a cool, refreshing
iced blender drink, or shoot a game of pool. In the evening,
explore Fire Island's restaurants, bars and dance clubs, or
heat it up at the Ice Palace, the Grove Hotel's very own dance
club and lounge.
Saturday afternoon, enjoy a fully catered
poolside barbecue lunch exclusively for the guys from Urban
Outings. Lunch is served complete with hamburgers, hotdogs,
soup, salad and a variety of summer goodies, as well as a
complimentary cocktail!
About Cherry Grove
Less than 1/2 mile wide and 1 mile long, Cherry Grove has
an unmatched charm. As you wander the boardwalks of The Grove,
discover lush tunnels of entwined greenery and houses as whimsical
as its residents. If you're feeling adventurous, explore the
mazes of the neighboring meat-rack on your way to the Pines,
a mostly gay men's residential community that also offers
exciting nightlife. For a more serene setting, follow one
of the trails in the beautiful Sunken Forest, a natural marshy
sanctuary of the National Seashore and home to a rich variety
of animal and plant life.
Accommodations
The hotel features Pool and Sundeck with stunning views. Hotel
rooms are all the same cozy size, all with private bathrooms,
carpeting, mirrors, large windows, tables and chairs, and
a personal safe.
Transportation
The event host will meet the group at 3:00pm each Friday at
Penn Station in Manhattan, NYC. Together, the group will make
the easy trip out to Fire Island by way of the Long Island
Rail Road from Manhattan to Sayville, the shuttle van from
Sayville to the ferry, and the ferry from Sayville to Cherry
Grove. Transportation is approximately $27 round-trip. You
also have the option of making your own travel arrangements
to arrive in Cherry Grove on your own earlier or later in
the day.

Deluxe Room Package offers high-rise twin day beds,
air conditioning, kitchenettes with refrigerator, microwave
and sink, telephones and a television/VCR, with a wide selection
of videos. Deluxe rooms come with unlimited local and long
distance calling - call anywhere in the US for free and talk
as long as you want! Deluxe rooms are located both at poolside
and the back of the hotel.
